The dreaded COVID-19 – what has happened to weddings?
2020 was meant to be our biggest and best year to date, with almost 40 weddings booked to be filmed alongside a lot of commercial work to boot.
Our new brand and website should be full of this year’s weddings, showing you exactly what we do, but we’ve not filmed a single wedding since December last year! It’s not been a fun time at all.
I can’t comprehend what the couples who had spent years planning to get married this year, only to have to postpone their plans, sometimes more than once. I really do feel for you.
As it stands, wedding ceremonies of up to 30 guests are currently allowed in England, receptions have not been allowed since the government backtracked a few weeks ago, so the wedding as we know it is now a very simple ceremony with no food or party afterwards.
I really did think that things would be pretty much back to normal by July/August when lockdown began, and actually looked forward to a few months off.
Over the last 6 years building this little business, getting caught up with all of the little jobs that I haven’t had time for was something I looked forward to.
But now, I just want to FILM SOME WEDDINGS! 🙁
